Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary: Uganda's Wildlife Ranch

Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch, located in Nakasongola district, is the proud home of the only wild rhinos in Uganda. This sanctuary is the result of the Rhino re-introduction project by Rhino Fund Uganda and Uganda Wildlife Authority. Conveniently situated 176km (100 miles) north of Kampala on the Gulu highway towards Murchison Falls, Ziwa is the ultimate destination to witness rhinos in their natural habitat.

A Haven for Rhinos

Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch currently houses twelve southern white rhinos. This includes six adults, three adolescents, and three babies. Adding to the excitement, two of the adult females are expected to give birth next year, further contributing to the growth of this endangered species. With its dedicated efforts, the ranch aims to increase the rhino population and ensure their survival for future generations.
